Kenya Police to Question 2 Jornalists Over Terror Story

A Kenyan official says police want to question two journalists and the chief executive of their publication for an investigative report which suggested that four terrorists may have escaped after killing 67 people in a Nairobi mall attack last month.

Kenya police chief David Kimaiyo threatened the journalists with arrest for what he called propaganda and incitement in their report about the Sept. 21 Westgate Mall attack.

On Thursday George Ojuka, a senior criminal investigations officer, said he left summons to report to police for questioning at the offices of Standard Group journalists John-Allan Namu, Mohammed Ali and company CEO Sam Shollei. Namu and Ali prepared and investigative report that aired last Friday accompanied by CCTV footage that appears to show Kenya army troops looting stores in the mall.
