Kim Kardashian Engagement Ring Sells for $749K

Now we know how much 72 days marriage is worth.

As previously reported, Kris Humphries put Kim Kardashian's engagement ring up for auction this week, with some analysts predicting it could be sold for as much as $500,000.

But they ended up being way off: it went for $749,000.

The 16.2-karat piece of bling was featured Tuesday at Christine's auction house in New York.

And although Humphries was not identified as the seller, an attorney for the basketball player confirmed the power forward was behind the listing.

The ring was valued at $2 million when Kris bought it for Kim, but lawyer Lee Hutton laughed off the idea that his client lost money on it the auction.

"It was something that was a part of the divorce, the dissolution agreement,” Hutton told The Daily News. “Kris is pleased with the outcome of the sale and the fact he can give a portion of the proceeds to a deserving charity. He’s in the process of selecting the charity now."

We won't hold our breath to find out what it is.

Kardashian and Humphries, of course, got married - on television - in August 2011. They split in October of that same year, though the divorce wasn't finalized until June 2013. Two weeks later, Kim gave birth to North West.

Humphries is now a member of the Boston Celtics and scored 12 points in a preseason game this week.
