Da Graca, 15, told Fotbolltransfers.com about his transfer to the Emirates: “It could be next week or the following week. Moving to England is confirmed but not this year. I will move there the summer of 2014.”
The reports have been confirmed by Thoman Albinsson, the Chairman of Swedish division four side Hisingbacka FC where the youngster currently plies his trade. Albinsson has said that the club did not wish to stand in the way of the development of the 15 year old and Arsenal’s offer made it even more difficult for them to hold on to Da Graca.
The young defender had a trial with the north Londoners in August, and is believed to have impressed Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and his coaching staff greatly. He has also had trial stints at Tottenham, Chelsea and Villa previously.
Traditionally plying his trade as a fullback, Da Graca can also play effectively as a defensive midfielder. He is likely to be drafted into the Gunners’ setup at the Under-18 level when he joins following which he would be eligible to compete in the Premier League academy league and possibly at the Under-19 level in the UEFA Youth League also.
